Meet Kalyn

The Olympic Peninsula has been home for me since 2016. I was born and raised near Seattle.

My early interests ranged in herbal medicine, holistic nutrition, and ecology. At the University of Washington I studied ecological design, permaculture, and Community Environment and Planning. My pursuits have consistently navigated the dual realms of human well-being and environmental stewardship. I still believe in their intrinsic interdependence.

I have walked in many shoes; serving as a whole foods cook, divemaster, nutritional therapy practitioner, guiding youth in wilderness therapy, and working with trees and forest ecosystems as a climbing arborist. I feel like each step has uniquely prepared me to offer Soma Structural integration work.

It was the physical rigors of tree work that pushed me to first explore the Structural Integration series. The resultant transformation was profound for me. The shifts were visible and internal. Receiving the work became an opportunity for reconciliation with my own body.

I believe that growth and change is not only attainable but imperative for all individuals. The principles of Structural Integration, complemented by the bodymind approach of the Soma Institute, continue to resonate deeply with me. I have found it to be a way of interpreting the intricate ecology of the human experience. I am grateful to offer this work.
